The Ospreys are delighted to announce the appointment of Mike Ruddock OBE as a Non-executive Director.

Ruddock, a highly esteemed figure within the rugby world, brings extensive experience and expertise to the Ospreys’ existing executive team and is renowned for his role as the Head Coach of the Welsh national team that clinically triumphed in the 2005 Six Nations, winning the Grand Slam.

Originally appointed as Performance Director at the Ospreys, Ruddock moved into his role as Development Director, playing a key strategic role in expanding the Ospreys’ pathway including his contribution to identifying and signing Welsh exiles players. Current pathway products, Will Hickey and Freddie Chapman, both have cited Ruddock as an important factor behind why they chose to sign with the Ospreys.

Ruddock’s primary role as a Non-Executive Director will be to provide rugby focused strategic viewpoint to the executive team, ensuring the Ospreys maintains their commitment to professionalism, responsibility, and an innovative performance approach, whilst never losing sight of our proud history and grassroots engagement. Ruddock will also add commercial experience having previously been the Business Development Manager (UK & Ireland) with Acorn Recruitment.

I am also looking forward to assisting our Commercial Team as they engage with an ever-expanding network of strategic partners.

“A primary objective for us is to maintain a competitive, elite performance environment that attracts talent, promotes development from within, and respects the values and traditions of the Ospreys.”

This announcement reinforces the Ospreys’ commitment to the future of the Ospreys and the sport within Wales. Together with Ruddock’s knowledge and experience, we look forward to entering a new era for our club and our passionate supporters.
