Keelan Giles helping out in the community

Ospreys in the Community Welcomes Keelan Giles to Board of Trustees

Ospreys in the Community (OitC) is delighted to announce that Keelan Giles has joined the charity’s Board of Trustees, further strengthening the link between the Ospreys playing squad and the communities the charity serves.

Keelan’s appointment reflects OitC’s commitment to ensuring its governance is shaped by individuals who not only understand professional sport but also have a genuine connection to the region and the people impacted by its programmes. As a current Ospreys player and a product of the club’s pathway, Keelan brings a player’s perspective to the Board, helping to bridge elite rugby and grassroots community impact.

Speaking on his appointment, Keelan said:

“Ospreys in the Community does incredible work across the region, and I’m proud to be able to support that as a Trustee. Seeing the difference these programmes make, including through Sporting Memories, which my own grandparents attend, really brings home how powerful community sport can be. I’m looking forward to helping the charity grow its impact and reach even more people.”

“As players, we see the Ospreys badge as something that represents far more than rugby. Ospreys in the Community shows that every day through its work across the region. They really do use the power of sport to inspire our communities and being able to join the Board is incredibly meaningful for me. I’m proud to support the charity and help strengthen the connection between players, the club and our communities.”

OitC delivers a wide range of programmes across health, education, inclusion and participation, using rugby and physical activity as a vehicle for positive social change. Keelan’s insight as a professional athlete, combined with his strong connection to the community, will support the charity’s strategic development and long-term sustainability.

Head of the Ospreys in the Community Foundation, Tom Sloane, added:

“We’re delighted to welcome Keelan to the Board. His passion for the community, understanding of our work, and personal connection to our programmes make him a fantastic addition. We’re excited to work with him as we continue to develop and expand our impact across the region.”
