Ospreys in the Community to hold festival ahead of West Wales Derby

The team at Ospreys in the Community have been extra busy this week, selling a record number of tickets to community teams and organising a festival ahead of the West Wales Derby.

The "Battle of the Bridge" will involve 28 u7s, u8s and u9s teams going head-to-head at Cae Duke Loughor, including 16 teams from the Ospreys’ regions and 14 teams from the Scarlets region.

The festival will be taking place between 10:15am and 12:15pm and is a great opportunity for attendees to come along and support grassroots rugby.

After the festival, the family Ozone at the Swansea.com Stadium will be open from 1pm, with inflatables, a DJ, face painters and more. There will also be special visits from Ospreys players and Ozzie himself!

There will also be 400 children at the game for the guard of honour and flagbearers.

Ospreys in the Community’s charitable partner, Action for Children, will also be at the game carrying out a bucket collection to support the lifechanging work they do in our communities.

Tom Sloane, Head of Ospreys in the Community, said: "It's great to see so many teams buying into this event, to which we are hugely grateful for their support.

"OiTC & Ospreys Rugby are keen to keep building on the positive relationships we have with the clubs across the region and further afield. We want to help provide platforms like this for grassroots rugby to flourish and there's no better day for an opportunity to bring the clubs together than the West Wales Derby!"

OiTC would also like to give a huge thank you to Loughor RFC for hosting this exciting event.
