Young Ospreys share spoils with RGC1404

Honours were even at the weekend, with the Eyasses defeating RGC1404 comfortably at U16 but losing at U18 on Sunday afternoon.

James Taylor helped himself to five tries as the Ospreys U16's overpowered their opponents to secure a 60-12 victory at Llandarcy.

The Eyasses stormed to 33-0 lead at the break, scoring five tries through  Stuart Nicholas, Rhys Gealy , Taylor, Dylan Francis and Morgan Jones with scrum half, Matthew Aubrey converting four.

Taylor proved to be a thorn in the side for the North Walians, crossing the whitewash four more times. James Tanner joined him on the scoresheet as the young Ospreys dominance continued to tell. Aubrey slotted another two-pointer.

The visitors continued to battle for some points until the very end and managed to grab themselves two tries before the final whistle sounded.

A valiant performance from the Eyasses will put them in good stead ahead of their fixtures with the Scarlets and Blues South as they fight for that all-important play-off place.

Meanwhile, a youthful U18’s team were forced to fight in a much closer affair at Swansea University. Both teams scored three tries apiece, Thomas Evans, Jonathan Fox and Mike Evans touching down for the Eyasses who eventually went down 28-17 to their North Wales opponents.
