The five Ospreys who featured for Wales U20 last weekend in Ireland have retained their places in the 23 facing Scotland in their first home game of the Six Nations on Friday night at Eirias, Colwyn Bay (KO 7.35pm).

Second row Rhodri Hughes starts along with backs Sam Davies, Luke Morgan and Ross Jones while prop Daniel Suter in named among the replacements. Another second row, Jack Jones, again misses out through injury while a number of further candidates have been left out as they are involved with the region in the PRO12.

Head Coach Danny Wilson has made  two changes to his side to face Centre Luke Williams starts in place of Nathan Edwards while No 8 Ieuan Jones comes in for Reuben Tucker. The rest of the side remains unchanged from the side that faced Ireland last week although there are four changes to the bench.

Wilson is looking forward to Wales’ first home game of the tournament and the inaugural international match at Eirias.:

“Every week we are together is only going to be beneficial to us as a squad. There was no lack of effort or commitment last weekend and the boys stuck to it right until the end,” he said.

“Scotland will be chasing their first win as well after having a very tough game against England last weekend. We are fully aware they are a very passionate side and we will pay them the greatest respect.

“The boys are really excited about playing our first game at Eirias and hopefully we can make it a venue where teams fear coming to. There’s a proud history up there, the fact all our home games are being staged here is an important signpost for the future of the game in North Wales.”
