At a chilly Tredegar RFC the U16's ground out a vital away win in the Regional Competition
On a cold winters evening at Tredegar the young Dragons and Ospreys kept the crowd entertained and warm with a hard fought encounter. The Dragons dominated the first quarter of the game and took a deserved lead through full back Michael Davies's try converted by outside half Joshua Prosser.
The Young Ospreys reduced the Dragons advantage with penalty by outside half Sam Davies and then went on to dominate the remainder of the first half with second row Ashton Evans bursting over for a try from 20 meters, converted by Sam Davies quickly followed by centre Matthew Vaughan running in a try from 40 meters resulting from good work and skills from flanker Alex Evans, the conversion by Davies meant a Ospreys 17 - 7 lead at half time.
The second half started with further pressure from the Ospreys with flanker Will Thomas held up over the line; However, sustained attack from the Ospreys pack resulted in second row Jack Jones crossing the home team's line for the Ospreys third try which went unconverted. The Ospreys had further opportunities to score but it was the Dragons who had the final score of the game with replacement centre Bradley Hill crossing for a try, his third against the Ospreys this season, converted by Joshua Prosser.
