WRU Launch New Coach Education Registration and Booking System

As part of the WRU Coach Education and Development Programme the WRU has been working in conjunction with WriteMedia in the development of their new online coach registration and course booking system.

This new online system will now replace the previous paper based applications, and prospective candidates will now be able to book and pay online with ease.

When asked about the process of application, Ospreys Coach Development Officer Dan Owens commented:

"It honestly now could not be easier. There are two parts to the new system. The public end is what all prospective coaches have access to. The other side of the fence is the administration pages, which system administrators have access to. The two work together as follows:

Once coaches register their details on the public pages, coach education administrators will authorise their registration. Once their registration has been authorised, the coach can now start to book courses, and pay online with the use of their credit/debit card details.

It allows us to keep a more comprehensive database of coaches, but also in conjunction with our Coach Development clinics, track those coaches who show willing to progress and develop, and possibly provide these coaches with further opportunities."

To access coach education courses, coaches can visit one of the following two sites for course details within the Ospreys Region:

http://www.ospreysrugby.com/community_coach_education_courses.php www.wru.co.uk/coaching

Once a coach has chosen a course, they must visit the following website to begin the registration process:

http://www.wrucoaching.co.uk/

Please be advised, the first available course to be booked online is the WRU/IRB Rugby Ready on 31st March 2009 at Llandarcy Academy of Sport. All courses following this date will be able to be booked online.

As a note, please ensure all coaches who are applying for courses have the necessary course pre-requisites for the qualification i.e. Level 1 requires Rugby Ready, Level 2 requires Level 1 etc. If a coach registers and is then found not to hold the necessary pre-requisites, coaches will lose their course fees in full.
