Mond Valley Golf Club hosted the annual Ospreys Golf Day on Thursday where the top team were ‘Worthy’ winners
The 18-hole Par 70 venue in the Swansea Valley teamed up with the region in May as commercial partners and it was the first time that the annual event has been held at the course which celebrates its 50th anniversary next year.
There were 16 teams taking part, all of which included an Osprey in their team. Dodging the heavy downpours, it was Worthington’s who took the honours in first place with Save Britain Money in second and Mond Valley’s own team took third spot.
The top three all received prizes kindly donated by Mond Valley, while there were also individual prizes with summer signing Dan Evans taking the honours for longest drive having been part of the winning Worthington’s team and Hanno Dirksen nearest to the pin.
The day was also supported by Mercedes Benz of Swansea, Official Vehicle Partner of the Ospreys and the power behind the Executive Club on a matchday.
Mond Valley was originally established as a nine-hole course in the 1960s intended to be a resource exclusively for INCO (Clydach Refinery) employees. Since then it has grown into its current format, with over 500 members, enjoying stunning views of the Black Mountains.
