Ospreys fans will get their first glimpse of the new Ospreys 2011/12 jersey when it is publicly unveiled at a special launch event at the Quadrant Shopping Centre in Swansea this weekend.
The wraps come off the jersey on Saturday, when members of the senior playing squad will take to the stage at the Quadrant to show the off the new jersey, along with the full range of 2011/12 leisure and training wear, in an event which is sure to go down a storm with fans.
It’s the first time that the jersey launch has ever gone public, allowing fans to be the first to get a sight of the new strip. There will be some special prizes up for grabs on the day, including two pairs of season-tickets and one of the new jerseys.
The launch event on Saturday will get underway at 12.30pm, hosted by 102.1 Bay Radio's award winning breakfast presenter Tommo, with the players available to meet the fans and sign autographs before, during and after the unveiling. The first team squad will be present, including those currently involved with Wales preparing for the Rugby World Cup.
The home jersey will go on sale the same day, with fans able to purchase it at the Quadrant event, or alternatively, via the Ospreys Superstore at the Liberty Stadium or through the online superstore. The away jersey will be launched in August ahead of the opening home game, the pre-season fixture against Russia on Sunday 21st August, KO 3.00pm.
The ever popular Ospreys jersey has been created by leading rugby kit manufacturer Kooga since the very inception of the region in 2003, and is now one of the biggest sellers in northern hemisphere club and regional rugby. The 2010/11 version, featuring on-trend purple side panels, became the fifth successive Ospreys jersey to sell in excess of 40,000, with demand coming from the length and breadth of the UK and beyond.
