Ospreys supporters can now recognise the Osprey of the Week, culminating in an end of season award for the standout player, thanks to long-term commercial partner, Worthington’s.
Every Monday, you are invited to vote for the Worthington’s Osprey of the Week via our social media channels, choosing which Osprey has impressed you the most over the last seven days.
As well as confirming the Osprey of the Week, all votes will be collated to decide the social media player of the year, with one supporter selected at random to present the overall winner in May.
Huw Warren, Commercial Manager, said:
“This is a fantastic opportunity not only for supporters to have their say on who is impressing them each week, but also, for one lucky person to hand over the award to the player who consistently displays the Ospreys character over the course of the season.
“Worthington’s have been supporting our Osprey of the Week vote for some time now and is the latest example of their longstanding commitment to the Ospreys, having been a commercial partner since our inception in 2003.”
Amongst their ongoing activity with the Ospreys, Worthington’s threw their substantial weight behind the “Show Your Colours” promotion ahead of the Scarlets match at the Liberty Stadium over Christmas.
Over 1,200 people from 18 clubs across the region were part of a 19,514 crowd, the biggest for the Ospreys since 2008. Trebanos led the way, with over 150 members enjoying a Christmas day out at the rugby, earning them first prize and will enjoy a special club day that will see both the first team squad and the Ospreys in the Community team visiting.
Worthington's is the second oldest brewing company in the UK and part of the worldwide Molson Coors Group.
Diane Rees, Regional Director of Molson Coors added:
“As a long-term supporter of the region we are delighted to be able to continue supporting the Ospreys through this initiative.
“Not only will it recognise the player who best shows true Ospreys spirit across the course of the season, it recognises the views of the supporters who invest financially and emotionally into the team all year long.”
