As the start of the 2011/12 season approaches, Ospreys bosses today confirmed that they have agreed to extend the Earlybird offer, making the value for money season-ticket prices available on any purchases right up until the opening day of the new season.
The three week extension was announced the day after the original Earlybird deadline, with a view to ensuring as many supporters get to take advantage of the extraordinary prices ahead of the new RaboDirect Pro12 campaign, which gets underway when European champions Leinster come to the Liberty Stadium on Friday 2nd September, KO 7.05pm.
Ospreys Managing Director, Roger Blyth, explained:
“We are always mindful of the fact that we are still going through uncertain economic times when every penny counts, and we have responded to that by extending the Earlybird offer right up until the very first day of the new Pro12 season in order to encourage as many fans as possible to take advantage of the fantastic value available through our season-tickets.
“We are relatively pleased with where we are at the moment, but we believe that by making this decision, we can convince anyone still debating the value of a season-ticket, to make that investment.
“It really is a fantastic deal. To be able to watch every game for £9.70 is great value, while I struggle to think of anything else that a parent could do with up to four children at that price. Under £10 for an afternoon’s entertainment for five people compares favourably to any other destination. Even if you are a fan who doesn’t get to every game for whatever reason, then you should consider the cost of a season-ticket instead of paying match by match; if you get to just nine games in a season, it works out cheaper to get a season-ticket!
“With three weeks to go until Leinster come to the Liberty Stadium, we are expecting a sizeable number of additional sales and we don’t want our regular supporters to miss out on these deals.”
Ospreys second row, Ian Evans, said:
"We are all busy preparing for the new season and we look forward to running out at the Liberty Stadium again.
"We're committed to supporting our community and have spent a lot of time over the summer out and about helping the Ospreylian cause.
"It'll be great to see some of the people we've met down at the Liberty Stadium this season."
2011/12 season-tickets will be available to buy at the Earlybird prices, starting from just £165 in Category C areas, right up until kick-off for the Leinster match on Friday 2nd September. Supporters are reminded that admission to the pre-season fixture against Russia is included with the season-ticket package.
