U18's see off Best of the Rest challenge

The Ospreys U18 side overcame a stiff challenge from the Best of the Rest side to win 28-7 at Seven Sisters RFC on Tuesday night.

Tries from Ben Roberts, Ashleigh Evans, Ryan Evans and Sam Grabham, with two conversions apiece from Sam Davies and Ben Roberts, were enough to see the Eyasses to victory in a difficult game against a team made up of players in the District set-ups (Afan-Nedd, Bridgend, Swansea) who have not featured in the regional age-grade sides.

Ospreys U18 coach Ioan Cunningham said:

“It was a good game and all credit to the Best of the Rest. They played well, particularly in the contact area and gave our squad a real test. It was really good to see players from outside of our squad who are hungry to get the jersey and they gave the coaches some real headaches moving forward so it was a worthwhile experience.

“It’s important that we thank Seven Sisters for the use of their facilities, it’s important to us that community clubs like them can be a part of the elite youth development programme, just as it’s important that people get the chance to see the next generation of Ospreys in action.”
