U16's maintain unbeaten start

The Eyasses ran in six tries as they made it three wins from three in the WRU Regional Age Grade Championship on Wednesday night with a comprehensive victory over Blues South at Llandarcy.

Following wins on the road against the Scarlets and RGC 1404, the Ospreys U16’s were back on home turf and were straight out of the blocks, flanker Carl Leyshon putting them ahead inside the first five minutes. Blues South struck back, tries from Jordan Bishop and Ollie Hitchings either side of a Josh White penalty for the Young Ospreys putting the visitors into the lead.

However, the Eyasses began to take control, playing some good attacking rugby and keeping the ball alive away from the Blues South pack and reaped their rewards. A brace of tries for wing Dafydd Howells inside three minutes, followed by a score from scrum-half Daniel Brooks saw the hosts open up a gap as half-time approached. A perfect show from the boot of White, converting all four tries, gave the Young Ospreys a 31-12 lead at the break.

Gus Rees-McPherson scored a try for Blues South early in the second half, but the Eyasses continued their dominance, with further tries from replacements Liam Popham and Jack Anderson, White maintaining his form to convert both, taking the score line to an impressive 45-19.
