The 2012/13 Ospreys Cup has reached the semi-final stage, with the U15 age grade matches taking place this weekend.
This year’s competition has been the biggest and best yet following a special launch event at the Liberty Stadium back in October attended by coaches and captains from the competing teams.
The Ospreys Cup is a tournament played out at U16 and U15 level that is unique to the region, with clubs enjoying cross border competition against teams that they wouldn’t normally encounter.
Sides from Bridgend, Neath Port Talbot and Swansea go head-to-head with everyone offered a chance to play for silverware via a Cup, Plate, Bowl and fro the first time ever this season, a Shield format as well, achieving the Ospreys Community Development team’s aims of increasing participation in the game.
The successful 2011/12 competition saw Pencoed secure the major U15 crowd with a 13-10 win over Bonymaen.
