If you haven't done so yet there's still time to vote for your LV= Breakthrough Player, with Ospreys pair Morgan Allen and Sam Lewis included on the final shortlist of nominees.
The analysts at Opta have analysed the performances of every under-23 player in each round of the competition and two players from each round (a forward and a back), were shortlisted, along with two additional players at the end of the pool stage who have outstanding overall competition statistics.
Openside Lewis was made captain for the day as Ospreys secured a dramatic victory over Gloucester in Round One.
The 22-year-old was skippering the Welsh side for the first time and impressive stats explain why it was he that took the plaudits after the game.
For the amount of carries and tackles in the match, Lewis ranked joint-second and third of all players respectively. He also shrugged off a tackle and won ball for his side with an effort in defence. Four lineout takes compliment his efforts, leading to his nomination following the first weekend of fixtures.
Meanwhile, Allen is one of the two players to have been added upon completion of the pool stage. A model of consistency for the Ospreys in four LV= Cup appearances this season, the back rower can be regarded as one of the strongest ball runners in the loose in the tournament this term and only two other forwards made more metres than him in attack.
Allen was also busy in defence, completing 46 tackles in total - only three players across the competition made more tackles than him.
Voting for the LV= Breakthrough Player is now open and closes after the second semi-final. The winner is decided by a fan vote and will be announced prior to the LV=Cup Final and LV= will donate £1,000 to a grassroots rugby initiative of their choice.
