On the treatment table

As the Ospreys prepare for Friday night's Welsh derby against the Scarlets, Physio Chris Towers has provided the following fitness update on a number of players currently sidelined with injury.

James King:

“James suffered an injury to the AC joint (shoulder) during the recent match against Ulster. It’s settled down nicely but we are currently looking at a period of up to six weeks out of action, with a mid October return all being well.”

Tom Smith:

“Tom has an ongoing groin problem. We are allowing the symptoms to settle before we can see how he reacts to treatment, when we’ll be in a better position to talk about his return to play.”

Adam Jones:

“Adam wasn’t available for selection this weekend due to a knee ligament injury picked up in training last week, which meant we’ve had to hold him back. He’s progressed well this week so we aren’t ruling him out for the Munster game.”

Ashley Beck:

“Ashley was unavailable for selection this weekend due to a pelvis injury picked up in the Glasgow game. We remain optimistic that he will be available next week.”
