Touch rugby returns to Ospreylia this summer

Ospreylia will again host a summer of touch rugby as the mixed gender leagues return to take place across the whole region enabling men and women of all ages to enjoy competitive rugby in a fun environment.

There will be an Ospreys East league played out of Pencoed RFC and an Ospreys West League which will take place at Swansea University. These will commence on May 16th and 15th respectively and run for nine consecutive weeks, with the East League on Thursdays, the West on Wednesdays. Both leagues will finish on Friday 19th July with a BBQ night.

There will be a ‘Try Touch’ night at Swansea University on May 8th for teams interested in signing up, with similar sessions being held in Pencoed on May 2nd and 9th.

Anyone can register a team, whether you’re a group of mates who want a bit of fun, a bunch of work colleagues who want to keep fit or a rugby team that doesn’t want the season to end. The league is part of the Ospreys Community programme and is designed to provide an opportunity to try a new variation of the game, to keep fit in an enjoyable environment and to make new friends. It is open to anyone aged 16 and over, men and women.

The competition will be played under Federation of International Touch (FIT) rules. The Welsh Touch Association, who are responsible for the development of Touch Rugby in Wales are in full support of the initiative.
