Thousands sign up for 2014/15

The Ospreys are delighted with the early response to 2014/15 memberships with more than 5,500 already signed up to get behind a young and exciting team ahead of Friday’s extended earlybird deadline

There may be three whole months to go until the first game of the new season, but the number of memberships snapped up to date is already the third highest in the region’s history and is set to continue rising between now and the kick-off of the new campaign - however, the team needs more support to give it the best possible chance of success next season and beyond.

The Liberty Stadium Ticket Office had been scheduled to shut down last weekend following the original earlybird date for a short period to undergo essential maintenance and an IT upgrade.

However, it has been agreed that the Ticket Office will remain open for in-person and telephone purchase until 6pm on Friday, giving supporters an extra five days to secure their season membership at the best possible price with renewals starting at just £99 for adults.

While the regular online purchasing system is not available due to the maintenance, we have put in place an alternative system for this interim period, allowing supporters to register their interest in season memberships and we will call you back. To register, click here.

“It’s great news that once again we are seeing big numbers signing up for season memberships with the Ospreys” said Chief Executive, Andrew Hore.

“To think that just three years ago we had never, ever, passed 5,500 season members, and yet here we are having achieved that number for a third successive season and with more than three months still to go until the new season gets underway. That’s a great achievement and we look forward to seeing even more supporters signing up for the cause over the coming months.

“It’s been a traumatic time for regional rugby supporters over the course of the last season but the support we’ve had in that time has been fantastic, as it always is, and we are extremely grateful for that ongoing backing which makes a huge difference to the business.

“There’s a lot to look forward to next season, from the exciting crop of young talent we’ve got coming through the ranks and is already starting to make a real impression in an Ospreys jersey, a PRO12 that will prove ever more competitive with the new qualification criteria for Europe and the new European Rugby Champions Cup, which will see the Ospreys competing amongst the best 20 teams in the whole of Europe. It’s got all the ingredients of a great season as we look to defend our position as Wales’ leading region.

“Season members are the lifeblood of the organisation. By investing in a season membership you are a part of the team going on this fantastic journey, helping to keep this group of exciting young players together as they grow and mature on and off the field. It’s no coincidence that the great teams, the big teams who win big matches, enjoy the benefit of big crowds. It’s true that teams win matches, but supporters win championships.”

The draw for the first ever European Rugby Champions Cup takes place next week on Tuesday 10th June in Switzerland when the Ospreys will discover their opponents in the elite competition.

During this extension period supporters will be able to purchase memberships in-person at the Ticket Office or via the Ticket Hotline on 0844 815 6665. While the regular system for online purchases is unavailable during this time, you can register your interest here and we will call you back to compete the transaction.

Adult renewals are frozen at last year’s prices, with season memberships starting at just £99 (standard seating) if bought before Friday, which means that the cost of supporting the cause remains lower than at any time since the Ospreys moved to the Liberty Stadium in 2005.

Earlybird renewals in premium seating areas are also frozen at just £160 for the season, meaning you can enjoy the very best in professional rugby, supporting your region from the best seats at the Liberty Stadium, for less than price of a standard membership just two years ago.

New members can sign up to the cause for the Earlybird price of just £165 (standard) or £335 (premium), again offering unrivalled value for money.
