Wales Under 20 captain, Rory Thornton, has been ruled out of the remainder of the World Rugby U20 Championship due to a knee injury.
He will return to Wales for further medical assessment and will be replaced in the squad his Ospreys colleague, Matthew Dodd, who played four times for Swansea last season. He will celebrate his 19th birthday in Italy next week.
Wales have two remaining matches at the Italy-based Under 20 tournament. They play Ireland on Monday in the fifth place semi-final (Viadana, 8.30pm local time), and, depending on results, will play Australia or Scotland on Saturday 20 June.
