The Ospreys regrettably confirm that recently appointed Team Manager, Mostyn Richards, has advised that due to personal circumstances he is unable to fulfil the role as anticipated.
Elite Performance Director, Andrew Hore, explained:
“Unfortunately, due to family illnesses in recent weeks, he feels that that he cannot make the time commitment that is required in order to do the job, and he has acted with complete integrity to make us aware of the issue at a very early stage.
“While extremely disappointed that Mostyn will not be part of our management team this season, we appreciate completely that he is putting his family first and fully understand the reasons behind his decision.”
Mostyn Richards said:
“This has been an extremely difficult decision, probably the hardest of my professional life, but I owe it to my family to provide the necessary support at this time.
“I had settled into the post very quickly during my three operational weeks at the Ospreys and was warmly welcomed by everybody at the region. However, circumstances have unfortunately meant that I’ve had to make this tough decision, and my family has to be my priority at this time.
“I’m grateful to the Ospreys for the compassionate way that they have handled this issue, and will, I’m sure, be a regular visitor to the Liberty Stadium throughout the season.”
Andrew Hore added:
“The Team Manager role is an integral one to the day-to-day running of the rugby department, and as we begin the search for a successor to Mostyn, we are extremely fortunate that we are able to turn to an experienced and very able person in Dani Delamere. While she has already undertaken some of the duties related to her new commercial role, for the interim period she will combine the two roles, providing support and assistance to the players and coaches.”
