Surgery for Lydiate

Dan Lydiate will undergo surgery this weekend on the shoulder injury that saw him ruled out of Wales’ summer tour to New Zealand.

Anthony Carter, Senior Physiotherapist at the Ospreys, confirmed the news today, saying:

“Dan sustained a significant injury to the AC joint in his right shoulder, caused by an impact during the England game on Sunday.

“He’s been seen by Richard Evans, shoulder specialist at Spire Cardiff, who confirmed that the shoulder requires stabilisation via surgery, after which there is an expected rehab period of 12-14 weeks.”

The following Ospreys players all remain in the squad:

Scott Baldwin, Bradley Davies, Paul James, Alun Wyn Jones, Rhodri Jones, James King, Rhys Webb, Dan Biggar and Eli Walker
