Surgery for Dirksen

Hanno Dirksen has undergone surgery on a knee injury sustained in the PRO12 game against Munster two weekends ago.

Chris Towers, Medical Performance Manager at the Ospreys, confirmed the news today, saying:

“After suffering an injury to his left knee in the Munster game, investigations and a consultation with specialists in London have established that the nature of the damage he suffered to his joint has necessitated surgery.

“He has already undergone an operation and, at this early stage, the initial prognosis is a lay-off of around six months.”

Towers also confirmed that Ashley Beck misses this weekend’s game against Edinburgh having been withdrawn as a precautionary measure due to a minor shoulder injury and will play a full part in training building up to the next fiture, Treviso away in three weeks time.
