The Ospreys confirmed today that prop Steffan Thomas had signed a new deal with the club.
Thomas had made 26 appearances for the club since making the switch from the Scarlets ahead of the 23/24 season and his impact in the scrum this year has been recognised by supporters and media alike.
Head Coach, Mark Jones, said: “I’ve been impressed with Steffan’s development since he joined the club, especially over the last season. He’s put a lot of work into training and it’s shown on gameday.
“As a club, we have always prided ourselves on the strength of our front five and by keeping Steff we have further solidified on that front. Myself and the rest of the coaches are delighted to have Steff continue his career with us and we’re looking forward to seeing how he builds on his performances in the future.”
Speaking on his new deal, Thomas said: “I’ve been enjoying my rugby at the Ospreys so signing a new deal was an easy decision for me. I already knew a few of the boys before I joined but I’ve made some great friends here, it’s a close-knit group.
“There’s a top front row here and that’s really helped me in getting my game to the next level, we’re always pushing each other in training and having that environment means that we’re all improving every day. On top of that Dunc and the rest of the staff put a lot of work into making sure we’re ready to go on gameday, so we’re given a strong platform as well.”
