St Therese’s School welcomes Ospreys pair

Richard Hibbard and Dafydd Howells attended a special Q&A session at St Therese’s School in Sandfields, Port Talbot.

Pupils from years 2-4 were given the chance to quiz the players about their rugby careers and training routine, while the school was also presented with a signed Ospreys jersey by the duo.

Richard Hibbard, who hails from Port Talbot, said after the visit:

“It’s great to be involved in visits such as these. We feel it’s really important to establish links with the local schools and youngsters in the Ospreylia region and it’s great that the Ospreys are so committed to doing so. It’s been a fabulous morning here at St Therese’s and the children have come up with really good questions.

“Hopefully we’ll see plenty of them at the Liberty this season, taking advantage of the schools ticket deal to support their region.”

The jersey presentation was made in partnership with the Ospreys’ commercial partner, Education Staffing Solutions, who promote the fantastic ticketing package available to all schools within the Ospreylia region.

ESS and the Ospreys offer schools the chance to purchase match day tickets for School groups of 20 or more at a discounted rate, with child tickets costing just £1. For every ticket sold 50p is also put into a savings account for the school to purchase from a wide range of sports equipment from Gilbert, meaning the school can earn new kit while the pupils get to enjoy first class live rugby action.

Kevin Moyes of ESS, added:

“It is always fantastic to see local school children in the Ospreylian region meet their rugby heroes. It strengthens the link within the community and highlights what they can achieve through hard work, dedication and a healthily lifestyle. At ESS we work very closely with the Ospreys and with the local schools to further endorse the values of community work.

“We were delighted to be able to present the school with a signed Ospreys shirt, both Richard Hibbard & Daffydd Howells were fantastic ambassadors and the knowledge and insight they left will last long in the children's memories.”
