Sony Suite set to give Ospreys the edge in

The Ospreys have this week received the keys for a new state-of-the-art analysis room that will help with their match preparation and reviews thanks to a new partnership with Sony UK Technology Centre.

The new Sony Suite at the region's Llandarcy Academy of Sport HQ has been fitted out to the highest technical specification, giving the players and coaches the latest Sony technology at their fingertips in order to study opponents or review their own performances.

Sony have provided the region with equipment such as LCD widescreen TV's, ceiling mounted projectors and an integral speaker system, as well as the complete wiring and networking of the new room. In addition, the Ospreys have also received two brand new Sony Handycams to complement their existing hardware, which will be used by Video Analyst Damian Karauna to provide extra filming options for all training sessions and matches.

As part of the room fit out, the Ospreys and Sony have also worked with Cardiff based Pink Panther Digital to create a stunning mural that covers one wall of the Suite, depicting both the physical geography of the region and the history of the Ospreys.

Steve Dalton, Managing Director of Sony UK Technology Centre in Pencoed, said:

"We are delighted to be able to work in partnership with the Ospreys to create this wonderful new facility which I'm sure will prove to be a valuable asset for them as they look to bring success to the region in the coming seasons. At Sony, we are committed to being the best and leading the way in our field of business, and we will only work with businesses who, like us, excel in what they do. The Ospreys definitely fit that description. From the conversations that I've had with Andrew Hore and Scott Johnson, the commitment and desire they have to make the Ospreys number one is clear, and it is that reason that makes our relationship a good fit.

"We are providing some of our cutting edge equipment to allow Damian and his colleagues in the analysis team to provide an even better service to Scott, his coaching team and the players, which hopefully, will bring even more success to the Ospreys in the future. We look forward to continuing to work with the region."

Ospreys Elite Performance Director, Andrew Hore, added:

"We are extremely grateful to Sony for their support in providing us with the equipment for the new Sony Suite, which will assist hugely with our preparations for fixtures. Being based in our region, Sony are an important part of the Ospreylian community so it is fantastic to have this relationship with them, and we realise how fortunate we are to be able to benefit from the technology they have supplied.

"It was important to us that our new analysis suite not only had the latest technology, but was also a comfortable and welcoming working environment given the time that the group will spend in there, and we're all delighted with the finished product. At the heart of the Sony Suite is the Ospreylia mural, which really gives a feeling of belonging and identity, setting the facility off perfectly."
