Tom Smith will undergo surgery in the coming weeks to repair the damaged caused to his knee in the recent win over Edinburgh.
Since suffering the injury he has undergone specialist consultation, and it has now been confirmed that he faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
Ospreys Head Physio, Chris Towers, said:
“Tom suffered a complex multi-ligament injury to his knee that will ultimately require surgery to repair the damage, which will take place over the next two weeks. The surgery will then be followed by a lengthy recovery and rehabilitation process.”
