Don't forget that you can still get your hands on tickets for this month's Heineken Cup game against Viadana for just a fiver!
Viadana visit the Liberty Stadium on Saturday 19th December (KO 2.30pm) for the second match of a ‘must-win’ double-header that could prove crucial to the Ospreys hopes of progressing to the knockout stages, and securing a first ever home quarter-final.
The Ospreys currently sit in third place of Pool 3 after their opening two fixtures, a 32-32 draw at Leicester Tigers and a nail biting 25-24 win over Clermont Auvergne at the Liberty Stadium last time out, to leave them trailing leaders Leicester by two points going into the Viadana fixtures.
To help with the cause, a one-off initiative for this game only will see a limited number of Category C match tickets being made available for just £5 on a first-come, first served basis (Full price £18), which it is hoped will boost the attendance for this key fixture.
Ospreys skipper Ryan Jones called on supporters to act swiftly to get their hands on the tickets. He said:
“The match against Viadana is probably the biggest game of the season so far for the Ospreys. We’ve done extremely well in the first two games, getting the best ever Welsh result at Welford Road in our first game and then securing a win against a tough Clermont Auvergne side the following week, to leave us one point ahead of where we were at this point last season with our best ever points tally from opening two games.
“It’s important that we build on this start in the two games against Viadana, if we don’t, the hard work so far will be wasted. We realise that they will present us with a real challenge, so as a group of players, we know that we will have to be at our best if we want to maintain our good start, and this goes for the fans as well. We need them to be at their best, and we’d love to experience another one of those special European occasions at the Liberty, where the supporters really do make a difference.
“This is a rare opportunity for our fans to enjoy Saturday afternoon rugby at the ‘traditional’ rugby time, and thanks to this brilliant offer from the board, they can enjoy Europe for a fiver. That’s exceptional value for money, now let’s see the fans take advantage of it and get behind us for a crucial match.”
Ospreys Managing, Director Roger Blyth, added:
“We realise that this is an expensive time of year, particularly in the current economic climate where people are still uncertain of what may be in store, which is why we’ve introduced the chance to see the Ospreys in Heineken Cup action for just £5. The Europe for a fiver offer means that coming to support your side has never been more affordable. With the game kicking off at 2.30pm, it makes for a cheap and enjoyable day out with your family or mates in the run up to Christmas, so we are anticipating a good response to this one-off deal.”
The Europe for a fiver offer is available only in Category C areas, with no further concessions available. Tickets can only be purchased as part of this offer in person at the Liberty Stadium Ticket Office or via the Ticket Hotline on 08700 400 004.
