As sales pass the 3,500 mark, Ospreys bosses have issued a reminder to season-ticket holders that time is running out if they wish to secure their current seat for the forthcoming season.
Staff at the Liberty Stadium Ticket Office have been kept busy since sales commenced three weeks ago, and with more than eight weeks remaining until the 2007/08 campaign kicks off, Ospreys chiefs are confident of topping last season"â¬â¢s total of 4,500. Last month, they unveiled a range of new family-friendly packages for the forthcoming season that appear to be a hit with supporters, with over 3,500 already sold. Particularly encouraging for Ospreys bosses is that over 10% of those sold so far have gone to first-time purchasers.
Ospreys Managing Director, Roger Blyth, commented:
"â¬ÅThe season-ticket package for 2007/08 offers exceptional value for money, whatever option a supporter goes for. With Category A adult prices frozen thanks to the early bird discount (with concessions in this area for the first time too), the introduction of a third pricing category, and children"â¬â¢s season tickets available for just £15... watching first-class rugby in Wales has never been so affordable for everyone.
"â¬ÅWe"â¬â¢re delighted with the response we have had from our supporters so far, but would urge anyone yet to renew their season-ticket to do so before closing time on Saturday if they want to be sure of having the same seat that they did last season. After then, all remaining seats will go on general sale to all supporters, and we would anticipate that demand will continue to be high."â¬Â
Season-ticket holders will also receive free automatic registration to the new Ospreys Membership scheme that is to be launched this summer. Normally costing £25 per person, the scheme will entitle members to:Roger Blyth added:
"â¬ÅFollowing on from our Magners League success in the season just finished, 2007/08 promises to be another memorable season for the Ospreys. Once again we have invested heavily in the playing squad, and now have what we consider to be the strongest squad in our short history. With the likes of Ian Gough, Mike Phillips and Mark Taylor joining what is already an exceptional squad, we are confident that come the end of the season we will be celebrating silverware once again.
"â¬ÅI would like to think that this exciting prospect is something that all rugby supporters in the Ospreys region would want to be involved with."â¬Â
All season tickets will be valid for all Heineken Cup and EDF Energy group or pool stage matches as well as Magners League matches. Supporters can continue to take advantage of reduced season ticket prices thanks to the early-bird discount until July 31st.
