With less than three weeks to go until Bath visit the Liberty Stadium to kick off the new campaign, Ospreys bosses are reminding supporters that season memberships remain on sale offering first class rugby at incredible value for 2012/13.
After the enthralling end to last season with Steve Tandy’s men clinching the PRO12 title in exhilarating fashion thanks to Dan Biggar’s last gasp touchline conversion in Dublin, combined with great initiatives such as buy one, get one free and kids go free, the rugby public in Ospreylia has responded in overwhelming fashion, with current numbers now standing at over 8,800 – double the 2011/12 total - and over 3,000 above the previous all-time high.
What’s more, with season membership revenue already 47 per cent up on last year’s final total, the region has also enjoyed a significant financial boost as it prepares for the new season.
With the community’s focus set to return to rugby again later this month following the completion of the Olympic Games, Ospreys Managing Director Roger Blyth is anticipating another spike in sales before the new season gets underway.
“We are obviously delighted with the response we’ve had to the season membership packages over the last few months. To totally smash our previous highest figure is incredible and is a good indication of the feelgood factor around the place following such a wonderful end to the season.
“Unsurprisingly given the great packages that are available we have an almost 100 per cent renewal rate from existing members, while we have been blown away by the high volume of new members signing up and introducing a friend, which has contributed to the substantial increase in revenue.
“Anybody yet to purchase their memberships, maybe because they mistakenly believed that they were no longer on sale after the Earlybird deadline, should be reassured that they are available and will remain so until after the first home PRO12 game of the season against Ulster on Saturday 8th September, and with prices starting at just £185 they still offer tremendous value for money.
“We have a team that takes great pride in representing the cause, on and off the field, and with almost 9,000 members and the total still rising, everything is in place for another great season at the Liberty. We hope to see that number rising higher by the time the season gets underway, so if you haven’t signed up yet, we’d love to see you joining the cause.”
All standard seating in the Eteach Stand has gone, with a limited amount still available in the West Stand, which means that the south-east and south-west corners have now been opened up for memberships for the first time.
Standard membership prices are £185, with premium seating costing £330. Anyone purchasing a season membership will still qualify for the BoGoF deal that has proved so popular, with Kids go Free initiatives also still in place. The BoGoF deal is open to existing and new members*, and anyone who purchases a membership and registers a free member before 11th August will also receive a £25 Club Shop voucher.
