The Ospreys Combined Under 16’s finished their regional round robin on a high after beating the Scarlets at PYS

The Combined Under 16’s regional age grade round robin cameto an end on Sunday afternoon as they four sides met at Parc Y Scarlets for the final two games.

The Ospreys Under 16’s took on the Scarlets Under 16’s and with both teams coming into the game with one win and one loss, it was all to play for at PYS.

The first half was a tight contest where the two sides were evenly matched around the park. There was almost 20 minutes on the clock before defences were breached and it was the young Ospreys who found the gap. Dewi Cross raced over for the first try of the afternoon before Josh Thomas added the conversion.

The Scarlets Under 16’s then found their own way in the game and two tries came in very quick succession. However with both of their conversions failing to find the posts, their lead was a narrow three points.

It was a lead they couldn’t take into half time as Ospreys Under 16’s replacement Sam Cambriani raced over with three minutes remaining for a try that went unconverted.
