With over 15,000 tickets already snapped up for next week’s Christmas cracker against the Scarlets, the Liberty Stadium is set to host the biggest crowd at a regional rugby ground in Wales for 4 years
Tickets are currently flying out at almost 500 a day, which means that the 15,732 crowd on the same date (27th December) two years ago, when the Ospreys edged out the Scarlets 17-15 in a close contest, will be comfortably surpassed before the week is out.
That will make it a four-year high and the biggest crowd at any of the four regional home venues since 19,443 people watched the Ospreys romp to a 32-3 home win against their closest rivals on Boxing Day 2012.
Earlier this week it was confirmed that a record number of hospitality bookings have been made for this game, with today’s news providing a further boost.
With demand high, supporters are being urged to get their tickets early, ahead of match day, to avoid disappointment.

“This fixture is always up there in terms of interest but with the exciting rugby that we’ve been playing and the Scarlets good recent form, this year has seen the anticipation really go to another level. To see such a big crowd confirmed with a week still to go gives everybody a huge boost and is a clear indication of the interest there is out there for regional rugby.
“We would anticipate the next few days being really busy in terms of ticket sales so the message to anyone who hasn’t got their tickets yet is don’t hang about. Get them as soon as possible to make sure you are part of what promises to be a fantastic occasion.”
