Saracens: Ones to Watch

Sarries away in the knockout round of the Heineken Champions Cup. Doesn’t get much bigger than that.

Top of the Gallagher Premiership, they’ve got a few dangermen. Here is this week’s Ones to Watch.

Billy Vunipola

The big back rower put up a monstrous game against the Harlequins last week, picking up the Man of the Match in the process. Saracens coach Mark McCall recently stated that Vunipola was in as good condition as he’s seen, and with performances like last week, it’s easy to suggest that the no.8 is in his prime right now.

Max Malins

Malins has been lighting up the Gallagher Premiership this year and is tied fourth for most tries scored (9) and fourth for most clean breaks (20). The wing/full back poses a constant threat and is a top finisher, see evidence point A when he managed to touch down Marcus Smith’s quick thinking cross field kick.

Ben Earl

Speaking of players lighting up the Prem, Ben Earl has been one of, if not THE, in-form player in the league this year. Earl was the Premiership Player of the year last year and has shown no sign of slowing down yet. A stat king, Earl is second in turnovers (22) and is in the top 15 for clean breaks (15).
