Rounds 14-17 confirmed!

The Ospreys have received an update on the Guinness PRO14 schedule with kick-off times and broadcast selections for Rounds 14 to 17 confirmed.

In addition, all games taking place in South Africa up to Round 20 have also been finalised.

The Ospreys now know that they will travel to face Connacht at the Sportsground in Galway on Saturday 10th February (3pm KO) in Round 14 before the back–to-back home games against the South African teams.

The historic Round 15 game against Southern Kings is the following weekend, coinciding with FA Cup  Round 5 and as such we have to wait on confirmation of Swansea City’s involvement and any potential home draw before our fixture can be finalised.

A week later we welcome Cheetahs on Saturday 24th February for a 5.30pm kick-off before heading to Italy to face Zebre on Saturday 3rd March (6.30pm KO local time).

Over 30 fixtures have been confirmed with the majority scheduled for live TV broadcast, figures which illustrate the excitement that the expansion of the Championship has generated.

The arrival of the Toyota Cheetahs and the Southern Kings from South Africa and the introduction of the Conference system has led to greater attendances, an increase in television and digital viewership and heightened competition around the Guinness PRO14.

This season the updated fixtures for Rounds 14 to 17 have been finalised earlier than before and David Jordan, Tournament Director for PRO14 Rugby, highlighted the efforts of all involved.

"Arranging fixtures across five countries while also taking into account clubs’ kick-off preferences and stadium availability is always a challenging one," Jordan said.

"We have eight broadcast partners who work very hard with us when it comes to fixture selections and to create so much certainty right up to Round 17 and beyond is very satisfying.

"Naturally, now that we have two South African teams in the Championship there are some new factors for us to consider, such as long-haul travel, but the diversity of the Guinness PRO14 is what gives it such a unique appeal. All in all, we have produced these fixtures earlier than we have in the past and I’d like to thank our broadcasters and clubs for getting such a good result."
