Rhys Webb disciplinary verdict

At a RaboDirect PRO12 hearing today the Ospreys replacement scrum half, Rhys Webb appeared before David Martin (Chairman), George Spotswood and Tommy Dalton (all Ireland) following a citing for foul play contrary to Law 10.4(b) during the Ospreys v Scarlets match on 26 December 2012.

The Player having admitted foul play, the Disciplinary Committee found that the act warranted a red card and having reviewed the footage of the incident and heard submissions from the Player and his representative, found that the entry point was at low end reduced to one week in view the player’s admittance of guilt and previous good record.

Rhys Webb is free to play on Thursday 3 January 2013.

The hearings for Rob McCusker and Gareth Owen (both from Scarlets) will take place on Wednesday 2 January 2013.

There will be no further comment on this matter from Ospreys Rugby
