RGC East U16's 0 - 10 Ospreys East U16's

The team from Eastern Ospreylia grind out an away win in their first game of the season

An unconverted try in each half of the game proved to be thedifference between the sides from North and South Wales.

It was a quiet start for both teams as they settled into the game at Parc Eirias in North Wales. When the home side lost a man to the sin bin for being offside at the ruck, the young Ospreys took advantage and scrum half Harri Morgan crossed in the 16th minute for the first points of the game. Hywel Phillips unable to make the conversion as his kick went wide.

With neither side able to make any further headway against each other's defence, the game went to half time:

There was much the same in the second half with both teams struggling to complete their moves against some determined defending. When RGC were yellow carded in the second half, the Ospreys tried but failed to use their one man advantage to any benefit. However as in the first half it was the Ospreys age grade side that had the edge and eventually pressured their way up field to put themselves in prime position. With just 7 minutes to play in the game Tom Williams for the visitors made his way over the try line.

Replacement Sam Evans also had trouble finding the mark and was unable to add the conversion. Despite a few more chances for both teams in the dying minutes the Ospreys East side had done enough to ensure the win away from home in their first game of the season.
