Man of the match Tommy Bowe says that the Ospreys were disappointed with the way they played on Saturday afternoon, despite securing a winning bonus point against Viadana.
Speaking after the game he said:
“We got the five pointer that we wanted but we’re disappointed that we didn’t follow on from where we left off last week. I think we started very well last week, and got the five points in the bag early on in the first half, but I think we were a bit slower off the blocks this week.
“It wasn’t going to be easy, we knew that. Playing a team back to back, they’re going to know more about you and make it more difficult for you. They were obviously going to put up a fight, but we feel we let ourselves down a little bit. We wanted to get the maximum points, it’s a tough group and every point will be vital so we’ve got to be happy with the outcome, if not overjoyed with how we got there.
“I scored two so I’ve got to be happy with that personally, but as a team we 've come out of the game with a lot of things to work on. We’ve had a tough two matches this week and last, we’ve got the results we wanted, but we have to keep our feet on the ground. The focus now is the crunch matches coming up at the end of the group next month, we know that they will be difficult and that we will need to raise our game considerably if we hope to progress to the next stage. Like I said, we’re happy with the outcome today, if not the performance.”
