Former Ospreys and Wales centre Mark Taylor, is acting as Team Manager for the Regional Select XV, and speaking about the match, he said:

“Preparation time for the game has obviously been limited, but we have done some good work and the enthusiasm in the squad is clear. It’s an important fixture for both teams; for us it’s a chance for the boys to show what they can do against quality opposition, while it’s also going to be important for some of the Ospreys players involved to put a marker down.

“It’ll be a test for us, but it will be a great experience for everyone involved, and the most important thing will be how we approach the game and apply ourselves on the evening. I’m sure it’s going to be a good night, there’ll be plenty of people there I’d have thought, looking forward to seeing the Ospreys getting out into the region. It’s not going to be easy, but we’re all excited about the challenge and we’re looking forward to it.”

Ospreys Head Coach Sean Holley said:

“We want to be tested and put under a bit of duress, particularly our younger players who are stepping up this year, we want to really have a good look at them on Tuesday. Simon King and Craig Warlow will put together a team that will provide a challenge. It’s up to those boys to put their hand up as well, they are playing on a bit of a stage and have the chance to impress us.”

The game takes place at the Talbot Athletic Ground on Tuesday 10th August, KO 7pm. It will take the form of four 20-minute periods, and admission is just £5 for adults, £3 concessions, with U11’s getting for free.
