Prydie facing operation

Tom Prydie will miss the remainder of the season after it was confirmed that he is to undergo surgery later this week on the knee injury he suffered in the recent Magners League game against Glasgow at the Liberty Stadium.

Ospreys Head Physio, Chris Towers, confirmed:

“The scans show that Tom has ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament, confirming what we were expecting. Having sought specialist advice regarding the injury, he will now undergo a surgical reconstruction of the ligament later this week, once the knee has fully recovered from the initial trauma. He is looking at a lengthy lay-off, anticipated to be somewhere in the region of six to eight months.”

Meanwhile, Towers also confirmed that scrum-half Jamie Nutbrown is also facing a short spell on the sidelines after injuring his shoulder, explaining:

“Jamie has suffered an AC joint injury in training. It’s still early days yet. But we remain optimistic that we’ll get him back playing again before the end of the season.”
