Young back-rower Rory Pitman is to join Glasgow Warriors on a six-month loan it was confirmed today.
The 21-year-old from Bridgend has represented Wales at U16, U18 and U20 level and is primarily a No.8, but can also play at blindside flanker or in the second row.
A product of Bridgend RFC, Pitman came through the Ospreys development pathway and played 25 times for Swansea RFC last season, scoring five tries.
Ospreys Chief Operations Officer, Andrew Hore, commented:
"This is a fantastic opportunity for a young man to move away and learn valuable life skills that will have a positive effect on both his personality and his game for when he returns home.??
"There is often a lot of negativity surrounding the idea of young players moving away, but to experience a different way of life and to have to fend for themselves can be extremely beneficial, helping them to mature and develop on and off the field."
