Paul James Disciplinary Hearing

An independent Disciplinary Commitee today sat in Dublin to hear complaints against Ospreys prop Paul James and Perpignan hooker Marius Tincu following the recent Heineken Cup clash between the two sides at the Liberty Stadium.

James was found to be in contravention of Law 10.4 (a), (striking Tincu with the arm) and received a seven day suspension for the offence. However, in the light of internal disciplinary action already taken by the Ospreys that saw James miss the EDF Energy Cup fixture against Worcester Warriors, the Disciplinary Committee determined that the suspension had already been served and James is now available to continue playing rugby.  Marius Tincu was found to be in contravention of Law 10.4 (k), (alleged contact with the eye/eye area of James) and has received an 18 week suspension.
