Ospreys are delighted to welcome back former player Scott Otten to the Swansea.com Stadium as Regional Commercial Manager.
A familiar face to many throughout the region, Scott spent over a decade of his playing career at the Ospreys before retiring from a neck injury during the 20/21 season.
Known for his signature chip and chase, Otten became a crowd favourite with Osprey supporters. During his time in an Ospreys jersey, he crossed the whitewash 10 times and finished on 110 appearances.
Off the field, Otten built his own business SO Coffee whilst juggling his playing career. His business experience took Scott to his former club Swansea RFC as commercial manager where his role focused on strengthening relationships with local business within the area.
Scott will now bring all his knowledge to his new role at the Ospreys where he will oversee the commercial business within the region, from hospitality, regional partnerships and player sponsors.
Speaking about his new role, Scott said:
“It’s been 13 months since I officially departed from the Ospreys and in that time, I’ve still been a huge supporter of the club both on and off the field. It’s good to be back!
“I am excited for this opportunity to return and work with the outstanding businesses within the area to develop trusting and ever-growing relationships.
“The most effective way for a business to grow is to understand their journey and to work with good people. Throughout this process we will be striving to introduce current and new businesses into the life of the Ospreys with opportunities for a variety of businesses to network, create new connections and to become a big part of our future in which people can be proud of.”
Ospreys Commercial Director, Anthony Cole-Johnson said: “When Scott got in touch about the role it was a no brainer for us here. He knows the Ospreys inside out, and his enthusiasm, entrepreneurial flair and determination to do things the right way shone through since we met back in February.
“I am really keen the Ospreys are the go to place for local stakeholders and business partners ensuring we are the perfect springboard to support local business growth plans, and of course enjoy some great rugby. With Scott in place we are now perfectly set make that happen”.
