Ospreys West U16's 46 - 12 RGC West U16's

Four tries in the last eleven minutes ensured a convincing victory over the visitors from North Wales

With just ten points between the sides at half time it couldhave been anyone's game as the teams from North and South Wales met at Tata Steel. However a huge second half performance by the Under 16's from West Ospreylia, with five of the matches ten tries coming in the last twenty minutes, ensured a convincing win in their second  game of the age grade season.

It was a tight first half as both teams settled into the game. Keiron Charles opened the scoring for the Ospreys with a try after ten minutes. The visitors from North Wales kept the Ospreys honest though as Harri Moncrieffe for RGC equalised shortly after.

With neither side able to convert their tries, the teams were tied until, with more than half an hour on the clock, Taylor Hunt crashed over for the Ospreys second try. Again the conversion was missed but with Rhys Davies crossing for try number three with the last play of the first half, the young Ospreys managed a ten point lead after thirty-five minutes.

With the scores so tight it really was open to be either side's game and when the visitors broke through the Ospreys defence just two minutes into the second half, Nick Dundee for RGC slipped over the try line. His conversion of his own try bringing them to just three points behind the Ospreys.

An unconverted Ospreys try  courtesy of Callum Carson just over ten minutes later stretched the home side's lead but as the game entered the final eleven minutes there were still just eight points between the two teams.

It was thanks to the impact of the replacements from the bench that the Ospreys managed a barnstorming end to the game. Replacement prop Charlie Milne crossed with eleven minutes remaining for try number four and just three minutes later Callum Davies added number five. Replacement Daffydd Moscrof having more luck with his boot and adding the Ospreys first conversion of the game.

Just a minute later Lloyd Dudley Jones got on the score sheet for the Ospreys West as he added the penultimate try of the afternoon. Moscrof again with a successful kick to add the conversion. As the home side had in the first half, their teamwork and quick hands allowed them to make the last play count as Callum Davies once again raced over the try line. As the clock went red there was just time to Moscrof to add the final two points with his successful conversion.
