After a tough start to the season last week, the Ospreys West fought to their first win of the season, against the Scarlets East last night.
After a drubbing by the Blues North in their first game ofthe season, the Ospreys West U16s were a much improved side last night at Llandarcy where they took on the Scarlets East.
The two teams matched each other for the vast majority of the first half, and it was with almost half an hour on the clock that the first try got scored. It was Cameron Clayfield that found the gap before Declan Thomas converted for the home side.
Once one try was scored, it was a frantic few minutes that rounded off the half. The Scarlets East evened the score with a converted try of their own but the Ospreys West took back the lead after the clock had gone red. Captain Dan Hiscoks slipping over before another successful Thomas conversion brought the first half to a close.
