Ospreys to wear new jersey versus Saints

The 2011 charity jersey will get its first public airing when the Ospreys entertain Northampton Saints at the Riverside Hardware Brewery Field on Saturday evening (KO 6.00pm).

The eye-catching shirt will raise much-needed funds for Welsh charity The Joshua Foundation, the second consecutive season that the region has opted to work with the charity, which aims to provide experiences for children with terminal cancer and their families, with a donation from each shirt sold going to the charity.

Designed as always by leading rugby supplier Kooga, the limited edition jersey incorporates the black and steel blue colour scheme of the current home jersey, with the addition of an explosive flash print in mulberry and citrus.

The shirt is on sale exclusively from the Ospreys Superstore at the Liberty Stadium and online here but will be on sale as a one-off occasion from the Bridgend Ravens Club Shop on match-day from 4.00pm until after the match. Fans visiting the Club Shop from 5.15 onwards will also get the chance to meet some of the non-playing members of the squad, who will be helping to serve customers and pack bags. The Club Shop is located inside the ground close to gates one and two.

Pre-match entertainment on Saturday evening gets underway as soon as the turnstiles open at 4.00pm, with children’s inflatable’s open inside the ground, with an appearance from members of the Ospreys squad from 4.45pm.

There will also be an appearance by the Ospreys Supporters Choir, who will take to the field at 5.30pm, performing right up until five minutes prior to kick-off to help build up the pre-match atmosphere on what promises to be another great occasion.

Originally formed back in 2006 in order to compete in the S4C television programme Codi Canu, theOspreys Supporters Choir continued performing once the series had finished in 2008 due to the desire of many members to keep the choir going in order to indulge their mutual love of rugby and singing!

Ospreys Managing Director, Roger Blyth, said:

“Preparations are almost complete for Saturday and the scene is set to be another wonderful occasion, just as was the case last season when we took games to Bridgend for the first time.

“Once again, the rugby public of Bridgend are getting behind their region, and looking forward to being a part of special night. We have a large number of Bridgend youngsters in our squad who are looking forward to wearing the Ospreys shirt at the Brewery Field, just as much as their family and friends are looking forward to sharing the occasion with them. It should be pretty memorable for everyone in the Bridgend District who cares about their rugby.”

Tickets for the game remain on sale at the Liberty Stadium Ticket Office, via the Ticket Hotline on 0844 815 6665, and will be available at the Riverside Hardware Brewery Field right up until kick off on Saturday.
