The Eyasses warmed up for their upcoming RAG season on Saturday by competing against their English counterparts at the RFU Academy Festival
The Ospreys Under 18's, who last season won the Regional AgeGrade Championship, kicked off their 2015/16 season by taking part in the London and South West leg of the RFU Under 18 Academy Festival.
The Eyasses took on Saracens, Wasps and Bath in 30 minute matches at the event held at Bristol Grammar School.
They faced Saracens first, as their senior Ospreys counterparts will on Thursday, and despite stiff competition from the English outfit tries from Charlie Davies and Jac Arthur, and a Tom Howell conversion secured them a win.
FT: Ospreys 12 - 10 Saracens
Up next were Wasps and a strong performance from the young Ospreys ensured a second win of the day. This time it was Ewan Gully who crossed the line, with Tom Howell kicking a conversion and penalty.
FT: Ospreys 10 - 5 Wasps
The only loss of the day came in their third and final match against Bath. Ewan Gully managed to score his second try of the day but it wasn't enough as the powerful English side dominated the game.
FT: Ospreys 5 - 17 Bath
Elite Youth Development Manager, Dan Griffiths, commented on the festival:
"It was a positive day with the players standing up against quality opposition. Throughout the day we gradually improved as a group which is encouraging. It was also good to see some individuals really stand out with their performances. However the squad is well aware there is plenty to work on when we come back together as a group in October to prepare for RAG competition."
