Ospreys Swooped The Amman Valley For Shane's

The Ospreys swooped into the Amman Valley for Shane's fun weekend at Cwmamman Park a few weeks ago as part of Shane Williams Testimonial Year.

The weekend was a great success and despite the weather over 1000 people came through the gates to witness this memorable event.

Ospreys player, James Hook said

"We had a great welcome and enjoyed the game against the Amman United. Although the rain came down, it was great to see the community spirit and the local support for Shane."

The whole squad played a part on the day, signing autographs, doing rugby skills and generally integrating with the supporters. The community of the Amman Valley also got to see the boys running through training drills and skills that would only usually be done behind closed doors of their training ground at Llandarcy Academy of Sport, which was a nice treat for them.

Shane Williams says:

"I'm very grateful to everyone that showed their support over the 'Fun Weekend', as with all the events that are taking place over my testimonial year. It's a day I'll always remember, playing for the Ospreys against my old club the Amman, and it's safe to say my roots are firmly planted in the Amman Valley. Thank you once again"
