The Ospreys ran out 36-24 winners against Newport Gwent Dragons in a development fixture at Llandarcy Academy on Monday evening. Jamie Nutbrown helped himself to two tries, whilst Marty Holah, David Bishop, Rory Pitman and Steve Tandy scored one apiece.

Sonny Parker, Andy Lloyd, Gareth Owen and Jonathan Spratt all came through their returns from injury unscathed, while new signing Filipo Levi made an impressive cameo appearance after arriving in the UK 24 hours earlier.

Head Coach Sean Holley said:

"It was a worthwhile run-out for the squad ahead of the Connacht match, allowing us to give some game time to players who haven't had a lot of rugby in recent weeks and to take a good look at some players from the semi-pro teams, so we are grateful to the Dragons for agreeing to bring a team down.

"It was good to see Sonny, Andy, Gareth and Jonathan all doing well, and the likes of Richard Kelly, Haydn Pugh, Justin Tipuric, Jamie Murphy and Nicky Thomas all did well stepping up to this level." Forwards: Ryan Bevington, Paul James, Cai Griffiths, Craig Mitchell, Ed Shervington, Marc Breeze, Richard Hibbard, Scott Baldwin (Bridgend RFC), Filipo Levi, Andrew Lloyd, Richard Kelly (Swansea RFC), Haydn Pugh (Neath RFC), Tom Smith, Justin Tipuric (Academy), Rory Pitman, Filo Tiatia, Steve Tandy, Marty Holah Backs: Gareth Owen, Kristian Phillips, Leigh Bevan, Jonathan Vaughton, Jamie Murphy (Bridgend RFC), Nicky Thomas (Swansea RFC), David Bishop, Sonny Parker, Jonathan Spratt, Ashley Beck, Dan Biggar, Rhodri Wells, Jamie Nutbrown
