Ospreys ready for Glasgow City Sevens challenge

While this weekend will see the focus on the senior side's Magners League semi-final clash against Munster, an Ospreys team will be heading north to compete in the NCS Glasgow City Sevens competition.

Taking place at Cartha Park RFC in Glasgow, the tournament will feature top sides from the UK and beyond, with the Ospreys joined by their Magners League rivals Glasgow Warriors and Ulster, while London Wasps will also be competing.

Coached by former IRB World Sevens Series winner, and now Ospreys Video Analyst, Damian Karauna, along with his fellow ‘C Group’ coach, Bridgend fly-half Dan Griffiths, the Ospreys squad will feature a handful of players who have tasted first fifteen rugby this season, as well as a number of promising players from the ‘C’ Group.

The action gets underway at 1pm when last year's winners Glasgow Hawks kick off their defence against West of Scotland in the first round. The Ospreys first game sees them taking on Edinburgh University.
