Youngsters throughout south and west Waleswill be able to enjoy an unforgettable week of rugby this Easter thanks to a new scheme launched today by the Ospreys and their sponsors npower renewables, that will see the first ever Ospreys Training Camps taking place across the region during the school holidays.

The five-day training camps, to be held at venues throughout the Ospreys region in Bridgend, Neath and Swansea, will be available to young rugby players. The programme, which has been put together by the Atlas Sports Academy’s highly experienced WRU/UKCC coaching staff and offers the youngsters a superb opportunity to improve their all round rugby skills in a friendly environment, with the added bonus of meeting their heroes from the Ospreys squad.

Each five day camp consists of a series of daily four hour coaching sessions concentrating on both individual and team skills, an educational diet and lifestyle theory session and refreshments, as well as visits from Ospreys players, a complimentary ticket for a future Ospreys game along with other Ospreys goodies, a certificate of attendance and Rugby Camp medal and refreshments. Qualified medical staff will be in attendance throughout all the sessions to ensure the safety of all participants.

Ospreys Chief Executive Mike Cuddy commented:

“The launch of the first ever Ospreys/npower renewables Training Camps is an exciting new development for us and is one that everybody involved with the region is very much looking forward to. Following on from our very successful Regional Tour in November, the training camps are yet another way in which we are interacting with young supporters across the region, spreading the Ospreys message and building long term relationships with the next generation of rugby supporters and players.

“Each camp will be offering youngsters the best in coaching and advice, the chance to meet some of the best players in welsh rugby, and for many, it also offers the first chance for them to enjoy live, first class rugby at Liberty Stadium.”

Mark Legerton, Development Manager for npower renewables projects in Wales

“We are delighted to be associated with the first ever Ospreys Training

Camp. A key driver of npower renewables’ sponsorship of the Ospreys is its

commitment to the development of grass roots rugby across the Ospreys region,

and we are delighted that our support of the club really is benefiting both

the existing elite and the young future top players.”
