The Ospreys today (Wednesday 2nd August) played a behind closed doors fixture against a Regional Select XV and got off to a winning start to the season with a 25-15 victory
The match was officiated by James Jones (WRU) and took place at midday at the Llandarcy Academy of Sport

Regional Select XV: Try Scorers: Justin Marshall, James Hook, Nikki Walker
No conversions were successful in extremely blustery conditions
Comment from Head Coach, Lyn Jones:
"This full contact fixture is an important part of our pre-season preparations and gave the guys a chance to impress in a competitive environment. Ryan and Brent came through the match with typical fighting spirit and it was a valuable exercise in blending the new players and those returning from long term injury back into the team. As a group the players looked sharp and we are already looking forward to facing Harlequins in just over three weeks time. Although we decided this was not a match for the spectator as it was more about focussing on developing patterns and units in a match environment I am sure the benefit of this will be evident in our first few fixtures"
